How many times can I win?
Once - in the interest of sharing and 'spreading the wealth' if you have entered multiple logos and many of those win an award spot you will receive the highest award and the next award will be passed on to the next entrant in line. Example: if you are awarded 1st and 3rd place, you will be awarded 1st place and the 3rd place award will be given to the runner up of that position and everyone will be moved up one place.
What do we get for the $10? Is that some kind of a donation to the site or is there more to it than that?
There will be tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of visitors to logopond.com and logopondawards.com through the awards, plenty of exposure to go around, There will be monetary awards given to the top award winners, and for the sake off transparency, yes, a small percentage will go to the running of the site.
Why aren't there any categories that the logos can be placed in?
After speaking with various individuals on logopnd I believe that it will be more feasible to have an all encompassing category, for every category, hospital, construction, business, etc. I can add one or more, so the number of awards that would possibly create would be inordinate.
Does anyone really care about a small cash prize? Maybe the money would be better spent on award certificates of some kind of cool trophy a la the D&AD.
Well given the prize structure if it is still considered small, then I'm not sure what to tell you :) I can say that D&AD may have some cool trophies because their entry fees are much higher that theses.
Is there going to be some placement other than my work being posted on Logopond. It's already on Logopond?
The works will be featured in an upcoming logopond book later this year/early next. Energies spent on my side will be trying to gain higher visibility for the site world wide and I think this event will help.
